The aim of this video is to disseminate information about the traditional sports and games (TSG) of Indigenous peoples, thereby contributing to cultural diversity and humanity’s cultural heritage. This interview addresses the challenges and best practices associated with TSG, viewing them as a positive example in the implementation of the United Nations Declaration in the context of the 2025 session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII).
Wilton Littlechild, a leader of international profile, spearheaded the “Second World Indigenous Games” in Edmonton, Canada, in 2017. This second edition of the Indigenous Games held unique significance for the advancement of indigenous rights and served as a global catalyst, helping to consolidate an international movement on TSG.
The organizations IRICAS.ORG and OIDI Peru are joining forces with Marcos Terena and Wilton Littlechild to organize the third edition of the World Indigenous Games, creating a space to strengthen our identity, one that takes pride in tribal heritage and indigenous roots.
